Prayer

Fine-tuning prayer times for your region, choosing adhan sounds, and using prayer tracking.

2.1Prayer times

The five daily prayers plus Imsak and Sunrise, calculated for wherever you are.

1Imsak
Sunrise
2Dhuhr
3Asr
4Maghrib
5Isha

Daily and yearly views

The Prayer Times screen has two views; the button in the header switches between them.

  • Daily view. Tap a day in the date strip to see all six times for that day. The current prayer time stands out and past ones fade.
  • Yearly list. The whole year's prayer times, month by month. Useful for a long trip or planning Ramadan.

Time remaining

The Home screen and the Prayer Times screen both show how long is left until the next prayer. When a prayer time arrives, the countdown moves to the next one.

Tomorrow's times

Once the last prayer of the day has passed, the Home screen switches to tomorrow's times. After Isha you'll see what time Fajr is without going anywhere else.

Listening to the adhan in the app

You can play the adhan from the prayer card on the Home screen. A small player appears at the bottom of the screen for pausing or stopping it. The adhan keeps playing if you leave the app.

Imsak and iftar during Ramadan

When Ramadan arrives, the app adapts:

  • The time remaining until Imsak or iftar takes the main position.
  • Ramadan-specific cards and a gold-toned look come into play.

2.2Time settings

Prayer times aren't calculated by the same convention in every country. The app handles this for you, and you can change it.

PathPrayer TimesSettingsCalculation

Automatic or manual

  • Automatic (recommended). The calculation accepted in your country is picked for you — Diyanet in Turkey, Umm al-Qura in Saudi Arabia, JAKIM in Malaysia, and so on. The Asr school is set along with it.
  • Manual. Pick any method from the list below. Your choice sticks even if you change countries.
If times differ from your mosque

A few minutes' difference is usually not the calculation method but the precautionary minutes mosques add. Adding minutes manually gives a better result than changing the method.

Calculation methods

21 options in total. If your country or the authority you follow is on the list, selecting it is all you need to do.

Asr school

There are two views on when Asr begins, and the difference is noticeable.

If Asr is the only time that looks off, check this setting.

High-latitude adjustment

In Northern Europe, Scandinavia, and Canada, the sky never fully darkens in summer, which makes Imsak and Isha ambiguous. The app applies the appropriate high-latitude correction in these regions. You can also change this setting manually to match your local mosque's timetable.

Manual minute adjustment

You can shift each prayer time forward or back by a few minutes, individually. It's the easiest way to match the offset your region or mosque applies.

PathPrayer TimesSettingsAdjust adhan time manually
  • Each of the six times has its own + and buttons.
  • Changes appear immediately in the list, the countdown, notifications, and widgets.
  • Set a value back to 0 to undo it.

2.3Prayer tracking

Mark the prayers you've performed and see whether you've completed your day.

Marking a prayer as performed

Tap the check mark next to any prayer in the time list. A short confirmation appears at the bottom of the screen; if you tapped by mistake, you can undo it there.

Completing the day

Mark all five prayers in a day and a celebration card opens. The same happens when you finish a Quran Khatmah or complete a dhikr goal.

2.4Notifications and adhan sounds

Each prayer time gets its own sound, its own advance reminder, and its own days.

PathPrayer TimesNotification iconorProfileNotifications

One-tap alert mode

On the Home screen's prayer card, each prayer time cycles through three states. Tapping moves to the next one:

ModeWhat happens
SoundYour chosen adhan or notification sound plays when the prayer time arrives
SilentA notification arrives, without sound
OffNo notification for that prayer time

Advance reminders

Set a separate lead time for each prayer: 5 to 60 minutes, in five-minute steps. The advance reminder and the prayer-time alert are independent; you can keep both on.

Imsak reminder

Imsak has its own reminder, with its own time and sound. You can set an early alert to wake up for suhoor and a separate one for the Imsak time itself.

Sunrise

Sunrise isn't a prayer time, but it marks the end of Fajr. Its notification can be turned on or off separately.

Adhan and notification sounds

You can pick a different sound for each prayer time. Tap a sound on the selection screen to hear a short preview.

Adhans by country

Recordings from Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Egypt, Kuwait, Malaysia, North America, Europe, Kosovo, Bosnia, and South Africa.

The right adhan for each prayer

Turn on the adaptive adhan option and each prayer time plays the recording suited to it — the Fajr adhan at Fajr, the Maghrib adhan at Maghrib.

Short notification tones

Three short tones are available instead of the adhan: Shelter, Radar, and Radial. You can also use your phone's own notification sound, or Silent.

Days of the week

For each prayer time, tick the days individually. You could get the Fajr alert on weekdays only, for example.

Turning all notifications off

The switch at the top of the notification settings turns off all prayer notifications at once. Turn it back on and your previous settings return unchanged.

Other notifications

  • Announcements. Updates about new sections and religious days.
  • Khatmah reminder. Reminders on your plan's schedule, if you've set a Quran reading goal.
  • Translation ready. A notification when a translation you queued finishes downloading.
When you tap a notification

The app opens to that notification's screen — a prayer notification opens the prayer times, a Khatmah reminder opens the Khatmah screen.

2.5Hijri calendar and Islamic days

The Gregorian and Hijri dates side by side, and religious days ahead of time.

Hijri date

The Home screen and the Prayer Times screen show the selected day's Hijri equivalent as day, month, and year. The Hijri date moves with the date strip as you swipe.

Month names appear in the language you use: Muharram, Safar, Rabi' al-Awwal, Rabi' al-Thani, Jumada al-Awwal, Jumada al-Thani, Rajab, Sha'ban, Ramadan, Shawwal, Dhul-Qa'dah, Dhul-Hijjah.

Islamic days

PathAllIslamic Days

Important days of the year are listed with both Hijri and Gregorian dates, and upcoming days are highlighted.

Dates can shift by a day

The start of Ramadan and the Eid dates vary with each country's official announcement. A one-day difference from your country's announcement is normal.
